Decode: Digital Design Sensations at the V&A showcases the latest developments in digital and interactive design, from small, screen-based, graphics to large-scale interactive installations. The exhibition includes works by established international artists and designers such as Daniel Brown, Golan Levin, Daniel Rozin, Troika, Karsten Schmidt and our very own Giles Walker, here is sneak preview of his new piece and also an image of the infamosu pole dancers with MuTATE friend Lilly Allen!
Hello World! Things rolling along very nicely here, we’ve got a new website on the way which will be a vast improvement on this one. Loads of Mutoid history, super fit Street Art, videos, the blog – all that good stuff now made much more betterer.
Also I thought I’d take a minute to remind you of the words of that ancient and rotund film director Ken Russel. At the end of last year he wrote an article in The Times in which he described our friend and mutational collaborator Giles Walker as ‘a master sculptor and genius’. What an astute, well turned out, Oscar winning legend Ken truely is… and it appears he rather enjoyed the sweet nothings this masterful sculpture had to wisper in his ear, “So you were in a punk band. And now you’re just a cunt.”
But of course you have already gazed at Giles’ genius when you came to our Behind the Shutters and One Foot in the Grove shows haven’t you? You are therefore a minimum of one up on good old Ken, although his Oscar for Women in Love is a potent trump (card). Here’s a new piece by genius Giles, the kids have motion sensors for knee caps and tremble when you approach. I love it. But I’m not here to chatter spittle into your hair in the style of a Charles Saatchi P.A. – so you can draw your own conculsions…
Cooo… what will he come up with next? We’re about to find out – here’s the trailer for the new episode in Banksy’s ‘Mad Cap Capers’ series. Looks militant. I just hope it doesn’t suck. We shall see.
Peeeeeoooooowww, we launched last night and way more of you turned up than we were expecting. Giant fire breathing animals ridden by two little girls anyone? Did I actually see that?! Yes I did.
Thanks all so much for coming… now, run go tell your enemies and your friends! Oh, and have a look at ‘The Video we shoot’ to watch Garfield’s history lesson on the One Foot site – great to see Mode 2, Don Letts and Roots Manuva down there…
WE ARE OPEN 12 – 10 FRI to SUN UNTIL AT LEAST THE 25TH OF OCTOBER for now here’s Snug’s piece, the paint was still wet when we opened, masterful work Snug – more pics and vids to come soon…
