Giles Walker: Master Sculptor and Genius!

Posted in Art, News with tags , , , , , , , , on February 5, 2010 by jack lomax

Hello World! Things rolling along very nicely here, we’ve got a new website on the way which will be a vast improvement on this one. Loads of Mutoid history, super fit Street Art, videos, the blog – all that good stuff now made much more betterer.

Also I thought I’d take a minute to remind you of the words of that ancient and rotund film director Ken Russel. At the end of last year he wrote an article in The Times in which he described our friend and mutational collaborator Giles Walker as ‘a master sculptor and genius’. What an astute, well turned out, Oscar winning legend Ken truely is… and it appears he rather enjoyed the sweet nothings this masterful sculpture had to wisper in his ear, “So you were in a punk band. And now you’re just a cunt.”

But of course you have already gazed at Giles’ genius when you came to our Behind the Shutters and One Foot in the Grove shows haven’t you? You are therefore a minimum of one up on good old Ken, although his Oscar for Women in Love is a potent trump (card). Here’s a new piece by genius Giles, the kids have motion sensors for knee caps and tremble when you approach. I love it. But I’m not here to chatter spittle into your hair in the style of a Charles Saatchi P.A. – so you can draw your own conculsions…
